Darfur is a region in West Sudan, about the size of France. Its main inhabitants are Arab and African Muslims tribes. It is a neglected region with severe underdevelopment, ignored by the central Khartoum government. In 2003, two loosely allied rebel groups started to rebel, the government did not want any other neglected regions to take this as an example. The government hired a large Arab militia known as the Janjawee to carry out mass genocide and rape to Darfur villages. So far the Janjawee have killed 400,000 and 2.5million have been internally displaced. The Sudanese government denies this claim, but their armed forces are known to communicate closely with the Militia and conducted regular air raids on Darfur villages, even before the Janjawee had been hired. Along with this, the Sudanese government has gone to great lengths to keep humanitarians and news reporters out of the targeted Darfur villages. Many Anti-Genocide groups aimed at stopping genocide in the world, especially in Darfur you may find over the internet.
